CEU Course Enrollment Instructions

Course: Shoulder Dystocia in the Home Birth Setting
Credit: 3.0 contact hours (Florida licensed midwifery) · 3.0 NARM continuing education contact hours
Format: Computer-Based Training (online course), self-paced — allow about three hours

Step 1: Login or Create a New Account

  1. Go to the Moodle login page at https://heritageschoolofmidwifery.org/.
  2. Click “Click to Login Here to Access Your Courses” (center of the page)
    or use the login link at the upper right corner.
  3. If you do not already have an account, scroll down and click “Create New Account.”

Step 2: Fill Out the New Account Form

Enter the following required information:

  • Username (must be unique)
  • Password (at least 8 characters, must include: 1 digit, 1 lowercase, 1 uppercase, 1 special character such as *, -, or #)
  • Email Address (enter twice to confirm)
  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • City/Town
  • Country

You will also be asked to complete a short “I am not a robot” check. After completing the form, click “Create Account.”

✅ A confirmation email will be sent to the address you registered. Click the link in that email to activate your account. If it does not arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder or email us and an administrator will confirm the account for you.

Step 3: Pay the $46.80 Enrollment Fee

  1. Once your account is confirmed, log back in to Moodle.
  2. Navigate to the Shoulder Dystocia in the Home Birth Setting course by clicking the home tab and searching for the course below the HSM logo, or by copying and pasting this link into your browser:

  3. Click “Buy Now” or type in your access code and click “Apply Code.”
  4. Select Stripe as your payment method and complete the $46.80 payment.

💳 You will receive an email confirmation once your payment is successful.

Step 4: Complete the Course

  • After payment, you will be enrolled and can open the module immediately.
  • The course runs in one self-paced module covering recognition, the maneuver toolkit, sequencing for the position the mother is in, EMS activation, and newborn and maternal aftercare — with a rendered maneuver lab, three timed clinical scenarios, skills drills and case reports.
  • Your place is saved automatically, so you may complete it across more than one sitting.
  • Finish with the 20-question post-test. A score of 80% or better is required to pass, and you may retake it as many times as you need.
⏱ This is a decision-making and recognition course. It does not replace hands-on skills practice on a birth simulator with an experienced instructor.

Step 5: CEU Certificate

  1. Pass the post-test at 80% or better. The module is then marked complete automatically.
  2. Your certificate unlocks in the course as soon as that happens, and a copy is emailed to you automatically at the address you registered with.
  3. The certificate records your name, the course, the completion date, 3.0 contact hours, and a verification code.
  4. Heritage School of Midwifery will also report your completion to CE Broker for Florida CEU credit.
  5. CPMs: retain the certificate for your NARM recertification file — documenting continuing education is the participant’s responsibility.
